We are not having a christening for our son as we want him to find his own path when he gets older. If that invloves God then great it's his own choice. In the mean time I want a really nice poem to read at his naming ceremony that doesnt involve religion, that just tells him about life really and how much he is loved. Any ideas would be appreciated. We will be doing it on his 1st birthday so he is not a newborn.

why don't you write your own poem? maybe tell him his birth story, or write about what you hope for him, or write him a love letter. I think that would be very meaningful to him later.
