I heard Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson are naming their baby boy 'Stupid'; is that true?

If so, that's just so cruel and disrespectful. The child would already be rediculed and he's not even born yet.

I heard Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson are naming their baby boy 'Stupid'; is that true?
They might as well. That's what everybody will be calling it eventually anyway.
Reply:what do u think, honestly if someone ever name their baby stupid they r some lame as parents.honestly ashlee looks to sweet to name their kid stupid.a real mom wont do that, experiencing the 9months of the baby in ur stomach from kicking and moving u wont ever think of naming ur child that trust.
Reply:pete is a sarcasitc person,

and doesnt want people knowing his buisness,

people didnt know ashlee was pregnant until

she was showing,

and he probably doesnt want people knowing it's name,

i know i wouldnt.
Reply:no they are not those are celebrity rumors don't believe them. and tes if that was true then that would be cruel but no people want you to believe things like that so they will get more credit and crap
Reply:No theyre not. I think Pete wants to follow the family tradition and call the child Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz IIII
Reply:I have not heard that. I did hear that she decided against Orange as a name.
Reply:I don't believe it! If that's true, then that's messed up on the parents behalf %26amp; poor kid!!!
Reply:ahahahahahaha

Reply:anyone who believes that is stupid
Reply:That's just sick.

What would be the punishment in Sudan for naming a lump of faecal matter mohammed?

I don't know about in Sudan but you deserve some psychiatric investigation for your stupidity.

To the fellow that says God gave us free will to choose, does he know that God did that? Of course not. He was told that by a priest and has chosen not to doubt it. He should not try to impose his gullibility on the rest of us.

What would be the punishment in Sudan for naming a lump of faecal matter mohammed?

Do you like what my friend is naming her baby?

What do you think about the name Marley Gwen for a baby girl?

Do you like what my friend is naming her baby?
its different. i don't care for it. but if it makes her happy.

do advise her to go into a quiet room and start screaming out first middle and last name (as if child were in trouble) and make sure everything goes together. some mommies don't think about that part.
Reply:I know a girl called Marley and it always raises a few eyebrows, mainly because people think she was named after Bob Marley (funnily enough she was). Unless your friend is a big Bob Marley fan and doesn't mind her female child taking flak for it all her life she should maybe reconsider.

And I agree that Marley Gwen is an unusual and not very appealing combo although both are nice on their own.
Reply:I like Marley. I think it's cute, and while unique and more of a dogs' name than a persons', it's not trashy or too trendy.

The only people I know named Marley are 14+, so I don't think of it to be too babyish, either.

I'm not crazy about Gwen with it, though, but it might sound different with the last name.
Reply:Marley is kind of cute. I think it could grow on my. I do prefer Harley though. And I don't care for Gwen whatsoever. It sounds manly.
Reply:It's cute, but Marley makes me think of Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol or Bob Marley. It doesn't strike me as a girl's name.

If you had a name sake, would you thank the parents for naming their child after you?

I combined my dad and brothers names for my sons middle name. I let them know. My brother REALLY wanted a name sake. Anyway, my brother seemed confused at the combination. And my dad never even acknoweleged it. They are not the type of people that I feel accepted by and so I do not like bringing personal things up. But I felt really disspointed that they were not happy about this. It is not like I am the first person ever to combine names.... Would you be dissapointed too?

If you had a name sake, would you thank the parents for naming their child after you?
I would totally be disappointed! But, I also have to ask the question- why would you name your child after people you don't feel accepted by? Not griping, just asking. I named my son after my brother (also middle name) and he was ecstatic. I also have a name-sake, and she isn't even in my family. It's the niece of a very good friend and she picked the child's middle name and thought of me. I was totally shocked and very humbled by the situation. I say if they don't acknowledge your child's name as being named after them, don't make a big deal, just don't allow them in the future to tell your child "Oh you were named after me". That would hurt my feelings. Good luck to you.
Reply:I believe in naming kids for relatives, but I've always liked the idea of using their real name or a close form of their name.

I really don't like the idea of naming a child a mix of two different names, but different strokes for different folks, you know?

I will say that I gave my older daughter the name my grandmother was born with (before my grandmother's name was changed at Ellis Island), but my younger daughter was given a name that started with the same letter as my husband's uncle. Well, today, I frequently think of my grandmother when I say my older daughter's name, but I'm not sure anyone thinks of my husband's uncle when we say our younger daughter's name. Part of a name just doesn seem the same.
Reply:I wouldn't be too worried about it. Sometimes, people think it would be overkill to thank someone about things like that.

What is the aim of the colour naming experiment that Stroop did?

"The aim was to demonstrate interference in the reaction time of a task. When a word such as blue, green, red, etc. is printed in a color differing from the color expressed by the word's semantic meaning (e.g. the word "red" printed in blue ink), a delay occurs in the processing of the word's color, leading to slower test reaction times and an increase in mistakes."

Why do Caucasians tend to avoid naming there sons Jesus but Hispanics seem to have no problem with it?

because it's a ethnic name. it's not like it's pronounced jesus and in jesus christ or anything. it sounds like heyzeus.

Why do Caucasians tend to avoid naming there sons Jesus but Hispanics seem to have no problem with it?
Isn't it pronounced differently? Im pretty sure that would give it a different meaning.

Jesus for Caucasians is pronounced 'jee-zuz', and is referring to Jesus Christ.

But Hispanics pronounce it 'hey-zooz'

I'm pretty sure it would have a different meaning to Hispanics. I don't really know.

But for Caucasians, traditionally from Christian/Catholic countries like the USA, England, Australia, it seems a bit pretentious, and possibly disrespectful to call a child Jesus?
Reply:because they are two different cultrures, when you say caucasions you mean white european, meaning people from england ireland or possibly from germany, that is not a whit european name! IT ALSO BOTHERS ME MANY HISPANICS TRY TO PASS THEMSELVES OFF AS WHITE,THEY ARE HISPANIC AND ARE IN THE BROWN RACE,THEY ARE NOT WHITE!(CAUCASION)BUT IF YOU ARE FROM SPAIN YOU ARE CONSIDERED EUROPEAN,AND THEY SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE,BUT THEY ARE NOT MIXED WITH BLACK,(*****)MANY PEOPLE FROM PUERTO RICO HAVE BLACK BLOOD IN THEM AND ARE ALSO SPANISH THAN THEY ARE LATINO!
Reply:I for one would have much lower expectations of my child then that of the messiah, but apparently Hispanics have much higher goals and aspirations?

I guess I'm just not that presumptuous!
Reply:generally speaking, Caucasians tend to be more like moderate and on the other hand, hispanics are more traditional. Therefore, Jesus seems to them (Caucasians) as old name.
Reply:Its prounounced "Heysus" not "Jee-sus" meaning named for Jesus,

that is the difference even though the spelling is the same
Reply:I personally just don't find the name really one that I would like to name a child of mine. This isn't influenced by my religious beliefs, I just am not a huge fan of it.
Reply:Because it sounds different. My sisters husbands name is Jesus. But yes we pronounce it Hey-zoos, and we call him Gee-zus just as a joke, and it doesn't sound quite right.
Reply:who knows. its just a name. jesus was just a man. a man who did great things, sure. but still, just a man.
Reply:It could be because more than 50% of all catholics in the United States are of Hispanic descent.
Reply:Probably the same reason Hispanics don't name their kids "Adam".
Reply:Just a name some countries use Isa, Esa , Jeshua , Yeshua as equivalent but its just through choice
Reply:Different values with different cultures. But, no one names their child, God.
Reply:Because it's pronounced "Hey Zeus"....?
Reply:Ollie say because they believe God is Mexican
Reply:English never used that name they just dont- nothing bad with it, we just dont use it. I'm a white girl named Juanita :) haha
Reply:Because it is pronounced as Hey zues
Reply:because its a hispanic name...

just like whites dont call their daughters Consuela...

What's a good site for naming a star?

I'm thinking of getting a starnamed after my bf for Valentine's Day. I'm wondering if anyone has ever done this? And knows of a good site to do this from? I found a couple sites and they range from 20 - 40 dollars. I'm wondering what the difference in them might be.

What's a good site for naming a star?
The Starnamer starts at 19.95 but you really need to shop around.

Although the International Star Registry was the first company to capitalize on the idea of naming a star, they are no longer the only "star in the heavens." There are dozens of options available to you ranging in price from nearly $200 down to Free Name a Star that, as the name states, registers your star name for free.

Know your place in the heavens. Many companies give you an option of whether or not you'd like the star you're naming to be visible from Earth without a telescope. If this is important to you make sure to specify when registering your star name. As an added bonus, some websites allow you to choose the astrological house where your star will reside.
Reply:Go to

http://www.sky-map.org/

and pick one out. Be sure you zoom out, move around (you can grab and drag), and look at some of the more famous objects. Make sure your star is smaller than 10th magnitude---that way, you'll know it's not already taken. (All the really bright ones have names already.) Maybe pick out a star that is not too far away from something spectacular---perhaps a planetary nebula that reminds you of him. Make sure you can get back to that star by putting the coordinates into the "search" box. Write down the coordinates and give them to your BF, and publish them on your Facebook page.

That will get you for free everything those "buy a star" scams will do for you.
Reply:Tom S is correct. Make your own certificate. It's as valid as the one you would get from any site. It's not valid at all, but it's the thought that counts.

Check the American Astronomical Society page below.
Reply:Just send me the money and I'll name it for you. I'll get you a nice bright one too, not like some of these sites.

Seriously, save your money. They're all con artists who should be locked up for preying on the recently bereaved, among others.
Reply:http://www.starnamer.net/

also go here http://www.starnamer.net/order.html
Reply:Why not just make up your own certificate, that's all you are paying for at any of these sites.
Reply:nice idea. zero official status.

some would say this is a rip off...

In india does congress back islam leaders for votes they strengthen their terror network naming religion?

congress back islam leaders for votes.....convert hindus in christian again for votes....rest divide again for votes.......

welfare of country...who cares....congress needs or likes or better can say love for votes only.

In india does congress back islam leaders for votes they strengthen their terror network naming religion?
What ?? when framing a question their is a preview option that allows you to see if you made any typos or grammatical errors, you do know that right ?

Congress has always been supporting minority groups in India, its their main vote bank.Religious fundamentalists come from Pakistan or Bangladesh, also i believe their are groups within India that recruit young men to join their terrorist outfits.

The Congress which is a National Party will in no way be associated with a Muslim Terrorist organization, its bad publicity !!
Reply:I agree that the minority vote bank approach is misused by extremist elements in the respective communities to exploit the situation to further their parochial - nay distructive - interests..

The Congress is afraid to hang Mr Afzal because a section of minorities and their sympathisers claim that he is innocent while the apex court had found abundant material to confirm his criminal act.. And our judiciary is known to be far from any partial or parochial view..

So your fear that the minority appeasement leads to laxity in dealing with terror outfits and de facto puts the respected muslim community in poor view.. is unfortunately true..

It is the congress that communalises terror - as the BJP leaders say - while the average patriotic muslim or xian is never in sympathy with proven terrorists just becos they carry their religious lable..

But the congress does play that risky game at the cost of security of the country..

The laxity in the investigation of the terror acts in various parts like Delhi Ahmedabad Bangaluru etc is due to irresponsible people in Congress led UPA ministry, like Laluji, saying that SIMI had no role to play in the terror - even while the police were rushing to courts to continue the ban on SIMI based on their info!!

How can a responsible cabinet minister say such things while the investigation is going on..? That evidently resulted in the slump of investigations and we see the repeat of terror in greater severity now..

But people like Joseph (above) seem more inclined to defend the congress than alert them, as responsible citizens should.. Politicians are politicians and we should put them in that postion and criticise fairly and boldly to make them act..

And Ranga, you seem to be very excited.. try to be more tempered in your comments.. May be your idea to target terror centres would be actually in consideration, as the problem is going on unabated with greater intensity..

Meant no offense to Joseph and Ranga.. I just pointed to what I thought was a little lack of right perceptions.. bye!

How could you be told to look at a specific muscle bone or tissue without it having a scientific name?

I was at my dentist yesterday, each tooth has a number from 1 to 32. Each side of the tooth has a name. each poit of the larger teeth has a name. each type of filling has a name.

Today I taught a medical sciences class. They are learning the proper names for all the body parts and tissues . We watched a film on the birth of a baby. Each position that the baby may present in has a term.

My 12 yr old son is very upset that I'm naming my son due in June Benjamin Elijah, how should I deal with it?

My 12 year old says that because his name is Elijah Benjamin I should pick another name for the baby, what do you think?

My 12 yr old son is very upset that I'm naming my son due in June Benjamin Elijah, how should I deal with it?
SuperKelly,

I think you should just stick with Tobias as you originally planned . . .
Reply:I realise that is your right, but I can see why he would be upset, he will be supplanted by a small baby taking over HIS mum, HIS toys, and now HIS names, there is no logic in this reasoning, but your big boy is still in need of reassurance, he feels that he will no longer mean so much to you as the baby.

I would pick other names for the baby, and get your older boy to help you pick out the best. There must be family names that also deserve the honour of being picked for this child.
Reply:I think you probably should think about another name. Your older son may feel as though you are taking away something that is special to him, his individuality i.e. his name. Although the names are reversed it is still too similar. I think you should give your new baby the same individuality that you gave your first son . Good luck.
Reply:I agree - these names are his and his alone. It is bad enough (in his view) that he will be 'losing' his mama to a new baby, but to lose his identity too? You might ask him to help choose new and very different name for the baby and involve him as much as possible - ensuring that he knows he is and will always be your number one baby.
Reply:uh- i dont eventhink your being serious but if you are, look at it this way. when a mother picks a name for her child, it supposed to be special and just for them. something you cam eup with to help make them an individual. and for youto just switch the name up and us eit on another child i would think really hurst him and makes him feel less special.

find anothe rname- no body is that uncreative.

good luck and congrats
Reply:Honestly, I agree with him. It's rather insensitive to name the new baby just the opposite of your 12 year old. Pick something creative and different, so the boys can each have their own seperate identity.
Reply:My aunt wanted to call her baby Rhonda but her son (he was 8? at the time) said "that's a dumb stupid name". So she named her Katherine. I can't imagine her being called Rhonda.

If it upsets your son that much ask yourself how important it really is to you?
Reply:I do think you should try to come up with another name.

Its your sons identity and its his name in a different order.

And your son is at a crucial age.

Please consider that.
Reply:I think you should pick a new name for the sake of your 12 year old, it's not fair he has to share his name, that's who he is.
Reply:I can totally see his point. You're basically just reversing his name, and giving it to his sibling. That certainly doesn't convey the message of them being unique and special. Why are you so hooked on the same two names??
Reply:i think its a little weird and agree with your son. thats his exact name, just backwards. he wants his own identity. At lease choose a different first name. What about Ethan? That way they both start with and E.
Reply:pick another name. It may sound to him that you are replacing him by naming him that. Really dont name your son that. Your 12 year old is right. Think how he feels!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I agree with your son. You gave HIM those names (no matter the order) and you should pick 2 new ones for the new baby. I think both of your sons will appreciate that.
Reply:Dude, your son has a right to be mad. That's way too confusing. Are those really the only two boy names you can come up with?
Reply:There's a ton of names out there. You can be more original than that!

I agree with your son.
Reply:My neighbours did that....one son is named Joshua Joseph and the other is Joseph Joshua...I wouldn't do it. It's like taking away their identities.
Reply:well, honey, he's totally right!!! that's just confusing... there are so many other nice names out there why won't you pick another name for the baby?
Reply:I actually like that, it's your baby, it's coming out of you. Your son will get over it. Don't give him his way.
Reply:I think you should pick something else. Your name is your identity. I wouldn't like it either!
Reply:I can't blame him; I would be mad too. There are way too many names to chose from. Pick another name, PLEASE!
Reply:i think you should pick another name for the baby...how confusing.

Help needed with naming a fake designer for school work?

For my media coursework we make an advert. My group is advertising a suit but are cannot come up with a name for the suit designer so can anyone come up with suggestions, it needs to be an original name. Our slogan is 'Suits by ******, for any occasion' We don't actually get any marks for the name but it adds to the professional look of the advert. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Help needed with naming a fake designer for school work?
'Suits by Jacobi, for any occasion"
Reply:"Bello for any occasion"

translates into handsome for any occasion, no need to use the words suits in your slogan. you might want to sell all kinds of items that make a man look good including suits.
Reply:Take a famous clothing brand name and swop some letters around so it's diferent but still recognisable, e.g.

And I have always been fond of the names Winkles, Polo, Dicey, Dandy, Maddy, Gnomers, and Blake. :3

And, Oreo is like too popular/common...Even though Socks is cute and adorable and stuff it is common too.

Try being unique...naming babies is hard but animals are pretty easy because you can name it pretty much anything you want.

I just made up a name...Anitrixie. Strange name but it has a cute ring to it. :D

I am also a fan of Figaro, Crookshanks, Panda, Bamboo, Smudge, Savvy, Puffle, Luffy, Pompom, Ikers, Shucks, Motorboat(only if it likes to purr, this is kind of a joke XD)and Tux. Maybe even Speck. And if it reminds you of Harry Potter try HP or Haypor. Hehe.

Well,Good Luck! And that little kitty sounds ADORABLE, how lucky are you!
Reply:boots or baxter mabey tabby for guy for girl cindie, april or target
Reply:I used to have a black.white cat named Oreo. It works!
Reply:i think some good names for a cat that looks like urs is oreo, cookie if its a girl mabye sugar.
Reply:How about Harry or Potter or pots? since he reminds you of HP? I named my blue eyed, white cat Sinatra.
Reply:How about: Cookie, Pepper, Itty Bitty, Paws, Socks. Hope you figure it out. :D
Reply:i love the name Panda!! name it that!!!!!!

but it's your choice, of course.

some other names may be something unrelated to its color, like my black and white cat's name is Millie.
Reply:Aww! How cute! I like the name Domino...and I like Panda too! It sounds soooo cute!

I have only a couple suggestions though...since I'm terrible at thinking up names....How about Jasper? (for a boy)....Or Elizabeth (Liz or Lizzie for a nickname) or Victoria (Vic) for a girl?

Hope this helps and good luck with the kitten! Now I'm envious...lol!

What is your opinion of people naming their child something but then calling them by the middle name?

I know many who go by their middle name as their first name is the same as their father, granddad, etc. However, if you are not naming a child in this manner and are just giving them a first name but intend to call them by their middle; then you need to name them their middle name.

If you call them by a middle name, you need to be sure that they know why they are called by their middle name and you can note this on all school records as well to avoid confusion in the early years.

What is your opinion of people naming their child something but then calling them by the middle name?
I name my kids what I intend to call them. They have OTHER nicknames-not things I woudl put on a birth certificate. My husband didn;t even KNOW his first name until he started school because he was alwasy called by a shortened form of his middle name.
Reply:I don't think it's a big deal. My dad was named Dennis Stuart, but his whole family called him Stuart. He didn't like being called Dennis, except in a professional setting. All his family called him Stuart. It's what he wanted.
Reply:Its dumb, if you like it so much, why not make it their first name? doy-di-doy

0=)
Reply:Its strange
Reply:I am 7 months pregnant with a little boy, my second child, and i made a deal with my fiance that if i could name the first, he could name the second. Now of course, he's a Jr., and would like to name his little boy after himself. I plan to call him by his middle name because his father, and his grandfather both go by their first names and there would be way too many tyrone's running around!! So Lex it is!
Reply:Its harder on the kid. My son is a Jr., so he's called by his middle name. He doesn't respond to his first name at all, so the first day of school or at a new event is always interesting. Not only that, but with school pictures this year, they ignored his middle name on the form I filled out and put his first name on the wallets. I was furious! So I strongly suggest putting the name you want to call the child first. Its really annoying otherwise.
Reply:i find it annoying, why not jst name them that if thats what your calling them
Reply:I think it's fine.

In many cases, it's a means of preserving a family tradition while giving a child his own name. (So if it would break everyone's hearts if your son isn't called Rupert, maybe it's best if you name him Rupert James and call him Jamie.)

In other cases, it's not the way it was planned. I'm J. Verity. I know plenty of people who are J. David, M. Margot and so on. Our parents didn't necessarily intend for us to be known by our middles, but we grew up and felt they suited us better than our firsts.
Reply:I don't see what the big deal is.....it's perfectly fine.
Reply:I think people can do what they want.

My boss's son's first name was John and his middle name was Wilkins (his mother's maiden names). John was a very popular name at his private school, so ever afterwards, he went by the name Wilk. I think that was just fine. Also, many people insist upon that stupid numbering children system (jr., II, III) and often use the middle name instead of Big Joe and Little Joe.

Think about it. Moms in the South spend months carefully planning out their sons' names and what are they called? Bubba.
Reply:My family does that for my little brother, but only because he's named after my dad, so when my mom asks for one them, both don't answer.
Reply:I think its okay. i have 3 friends who go by their middle names because they don't like their first names, and my brother goes by his middle name because his first name is my dad's name and my grandad's name.
Reply:Sometimes once the child gets to a certain age they decide they like their middle name better so they decide to go by it. I don't have a problem with it.
Reply:My cousin did that. Her daughter is Sarah Katherine and we call her Kate. It's no big deal, but hopefully it won't get confusing as she gets older. Also, she has some clothes %26amp; toys that are monogrammed. Some say "Sarah" %26amp; some say "Kate or Katherine."
Reply:yeah I know someone names Chassel Lydia and they call her Lydia.
Reply:It's VERY common in families where two or more people share a first name (father/son/grandson).

Catholic families often named their daughters Mary _____ in honor of Mary the mother of Jesus but called them by the middle names.

I don't have a problem with it.
Reply:I was a nanny for a little girl who was in that situation. When she started school, they would call her by her first name during the roll call %26amp; during award ceremonies. She got a little confused. And, then she started asking if she could use her first name. I think it just causes more hasle in the long run.
Reply:i think it is ok it's there name let them choose what they want to be called
Reply:I find that when this happens, usually the first name is in honor of a family member and the middle name gives the child a seperate identity- I personally kind of like it.
Reply:Well, it seems a little silly to me in sense that if your going to call him by their middle name, why didn't you just make that

their first name. It's something I wouldn't do personally but, in all honesty, I don't really care if people do that.
Reply:Its a Tradition in my Family.. to call everybody by there middle name. But when they get older the rest of the world calls em by there middle name. But i think its cool.
Reply:I wouldn't want to be called by my middle name but for others it is ok. My aunty's name was Francis but when she grew up everyone now calls her Kay

What do you think about the name my parents are thinking of naming my new sister?
can you slap them both for me!

Snap them out of it. dont they know this baby is going to have this name for the rest of her life? Or at least until she can change it herself by depol once shes 18. She will hate them forever if they give her that name.

Reply:If you don't like this name why don't you tell what your choice is. I think they will appreciate that.
Reply:Total stripper name.
Reply:Please try to talk them out of it. It's terrible!!! Diamond is trashy enough by itself but add Goldie and Cash to it, it sounds even trashier. It sounds like something a stripper or a porn star would be named. Goldie reminds me of either Goldilocks and the three bears or Goldie Hawn. Also, Cash is too masculine.
Reply:Oriana meaning Gold in Italian

Kaimana meaning Diamond in Hawaiian (kah ee MAH nah)

Oriana Kaimana Kash
Reply:AWFUL!
Reply:I think it's awful.

As somebody who was hung with an awful name at birth, I hope they won't do this. I went through years of people making fun of it until I had it legally changed.

It was a big hassle, cost a couple of hundred dollars, and I had to be fingerprinted like a common criminal, but it was worth it. Nobody can ever call me that again.

If Golda fits with your ethnicity, they could name her Golda Cassandra and then give her the nickname Goldie Cash. (Still wouldn't be my favorite.) Diamond, as a 3rd name, won't show up on anything except the birth certirficate and possibly legal documents.
Reply:crazy
Reply:Total stripper name.

im sorry..i mean Goldie is somewhat OK..but Cash Diamond??? what?
Reply:I know a girl named Goldie and I dont like her so, that makes me not like the name.
Reply:YIKES! Stripper, stage name, all of these come to mind. I hope they don't do that to the poor kid!
Reply:hopefully she doesn't live anywhere, that she could potentially become a stripper or a prostitute
Reply:"Now appearing on stage three. . . "
Reply:wow what a name

personally, i dnt like it
Reply:Stripper name! Maybe the best stripper name that I have ever heard. You left mind-altering drugs off the list of things they like. Shame on you.
Reply:That sounds like a celebrity baby name. I actually kind of like it. I have a really normal name - Katie, but I am happy with it. Do you think that your sister will be when she is your age, or mine (23)?

Help with naming my web page and e-mail for my stamping biz?

I have opened a home-based party plan business that sells stamping supplies for scrapbooking, card making, etc. I have a company provided web site and e-mail that I get to customize. I need help deciding what to request. I would like it to be easy for people to remember and say something about me, my area, my, business etc. Certain words are not allowed and alot have ben taken already. Should I just use my name? If I advertise on my vehicle, I wasn't too thrilled with my name on my car window. I'm also keeping in mind when people do a web search for my products or company, making it easier for my web page to be listed. Thanks!

Oh yeah, I should mention that we're the company with the acrylic stamps but we can't use "Acrylix" because it's the company's trademark.

Help with naming my web page and e-mail for my stamping biz?
First, don't use a name that has been posted online. Its likely someone has already tried to pick it up.

Keep in mind that when you select a domain name, you are also selecting a keyword or phrase that will be associated with your business, and if you set up your web page correctly, will also be a source of free traffic from search engines.

So start with a list of keywords related to what your business provides - stamping supplies, scrapbooking, etc. Put those all on a list. Start forming combinations of those words, the shorter the better.

Visit Overture's Keyword Tool - see what keywords people are searching for related to your business:

http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchin...

It will also give you ideas for your list. Once you have your ideas, visit a site like www.namesecure.com and check on the availability of the domain you choose.

Your best domain option is:

1) Short and easy to remember

2) Contains keywords in high demand for your business

3) Does not contain too many dashes or other special characters, if any

Always keep in mind that the goal for having a domain is typically to provide contact info an marketing info for prospects - make your domain as easy to find, and easy to remember as possible. But ultimately, you will need to decide what name best fits your needs, and find out if it is available.

Reply:How about Younee's Stamping? Is that really your first name?

You can't use acrylix, but how about acrylic? You weren't thrilled with your first name on your car, but how about your middle name or last name? It would help, if I knew whaty our stamping biz does. Stamping Is Us.
Reply:did u try stamp'ems that would be pretty catchy ithink and if u want to add to it add your pets name to the front of it like my dogs name is slick so it would be "slick stamp'ems" street name might also be useful if it's a name or something
Reply:Do you have a nickname that you can go by instead of your real name?

Example

"Suzys" stamps-n-stuff

"Sweetie pies" stamps-n-stuff

"Honeys" stamps-n-stuff
