Who has the job of naming new stars and planets?

This is something that's always intrigued me,


Is there someone in particular who has that job?

Who has the job of naming new stars and planets?
The International Astronomical Union is the body which officially names objects in the sky.
Reply:That job belongs to the International Astronomical Union (IAU)
Reply:There is something like the Scientists Union of Astronomy or somehing, the one's who turned Pluto into a dwarf planet. (I think it was Pluto.)

Reply:whoever discovers the star first%26gt;%26gt; they are named after that person%26gt;.
Reply:whoever found the planet or star
Reply:no the people who find the star or planet get to name it
