What's your opinion on naming your puppy Lexie if you have a child named Alex at home? Too confusing for dog?

Lexie is a great name for a dog but I do think it might be a bit too confusing for her.





You will use the dogs name an awful lot while she is a puppy and you are training.





The dog really needs to understand immediately you want her attention . It will not help if she thinks you are calling her and there is no follow through.





If it were me I would be confused too ... we have two dogs with very different names but I still sometimes call the wrong one out in haste .... that is more an age problem though I guess.

yes it will be confusing for the dog.. you should pick a different name for either the pup or the kid, lol
Reply:It shouldn't be a problem for your dog, the kid on the other hand :-) There's been some talk about naming dogs with hard sounding letters such as 'P' and 'T' because dogs can hear those sounds much better than the softer 'S', etc. It's all up to the owner, and Lexie is much different than Alex, besides the obvious 'x' in both names. I don't think you'll have trouble at all.

How about Lizzie or Liza instead?

I dont think ALEX and LEXIE sound anything alike
Reply:the names r cute.u can also keep lizzy for ur doggie.but if u don't like it leave it.the name which u mentioned does not sound alike so i felt it was nice.i luv the name lexie.i will keep it for my pup.

Reply:No, you should be careful to pronounce well enough the two name.. dog are not stupid they understand very quick their name.. I supposed you don't speak to your kid the same way than your dog?


I find that Lexie is a nice name for a dog!
