Is naming your child Success setting it up for failure?

When I was visiting my cousins one of the went to school with a boy named Success.

Is naming your child Success setting it up for failure?
Sounds kinda ghetto. Yep, it will seem very ironic one day when he's on the cellblock.
Reply:I don't think you would be setting them up for failure by naming them that. There might have been some important meaning behind a name like that, maybe the parents had tried for years to have a child and doctors said they would never succeed in having a baby, but then miraculously it happened against all odds hence the name "success".
Reply:Why do parents name their kids stupid stuff like "Success" or "Apple" or "Blanket" and all those other dumb names celebs give their babies. Sometimes I want to hit people because they are just asking for their kids to have no friends and get wedgies at school for being named after a fruit. Some person on here last night wanted to name their kid "thirteen".. I mean, whatever, if you like the name thats your business but I think it is ridiculous.
Reply:My problem is when parents make the naming of their child about themselves rather than the child.

Whenever you see parents pick strange names, or overly trendy names, it becomes obvious that parents are more focused on themselves.

Reply:Who knows? It is an awful name and the kid will totally get razzed for it. Even if they fail seldom, they will still fail and it will be awful with a name like Success. Name them Seldom Failure. LoL
Reply:no but it's setting it up for years of torture from other kids in school.
Reply:Poor child!!
Reply:it's a lot of pressure for a kid unless he/she is born with innate self confidence. but kids will be mean.
Reply:No, but it is a bad name for a kid.
