My husband and I are having the most difficult time deciding on a baby name for our third child. I figured the name would just come to us like it did for our first two kids, but that is not happening. We have gone through at least 4 different baby name books and can't agree on one of them. It is so exasperating. Just wondering if anyone else is going through this too.
Is anyone else stuck on naming their baby?
I am just starting my 8th month of pregnancy, and can't decide on anything. It feels to me like we out did ourselves when we named our first son, and now nothing sounds right. I have many baby books including a couple with "exotic" names and have had no luck. I just get sick of looking. Its frustrating because in the back of my head i'm thinking "what if nothing works!!???" You aren't alone, and I'm glad to know someone else is also struggling with this. I am not alone :)
Reply:Perhaps the name will come to you once you see the child, rather than having a name pre-picked out (and it might not fit the child). In the meantime, some names for either g or b are Jamie (Jayme), Bobby (Bobbi), Robert (Roberta)
There is an old song titled "A Boy Named SUE".
Honest to GOD: there is a female lawyer in SE Lousiana with the firsst name of "Darren"!!!
Reply:Me too! Our third is due in June and we have nothing! We are having a girl, though. Before we found out, we were pouring over the boy names and it is difficult. My husband's family is very into their Scottish roots, so my husband was finding the ugliest Scottish names out there. The only common sounding name he liked was Aiden, BUT he wanted it spelled Aoedhan or something like that. I love the name Ethan but it's so popular you just can't use it. Now that we've found out it's a third girl, he isn't really giving any input other than "No, I used to know a girl with that name and she was loud." or "That's the name of my Kindergarten girlfriend, too weird." So we really have nothing. I feel for you.
Reply:i av got the same thing and every name i come up with it nerve seems to sound right when u say it or it dose not go with the rest of the name i have found a couple but you could watch a movie and go from there i always like different names some think wot no 1 else has got but that's me .
Reply:I would say that its the toughest decision you have to make before the baby shows up. So think of names that you think are strong and will allow your baby to think highly of themselves.
Reply:My husband and I have been though it but now we have "argured" about so much about now we don't even discuss it anymore he just says well whatever you want. We had names picked out in the beginning but now we are use
Reply:Believe me, I had my child at 13 years old. It was so hard to come up with a name, until my Grandmother past before our daughter was born. So, we decided to name her after my GrandMother, Buffy Bianca. Some good books to read though if you are searching for names are, "names for dummies" and "the encyclopedia of names" personally, I love the names Miley and Llamarentio. -Marty JEan Baker
