Did you plan on naming your baby something totally different then you actually did?

We were going to name our son(if we had a boy, we didn't know) Colton Robert John...but we ended up naming him Daniel Robert John instead. We had this name picked for months before our son was actually born.


Anyone else have a change of plans when naming their baby?

For some strange reason, I was dead set that I was having a boy. So for a whole four months, I was going to name my "son", Adrian Ricardo (sounds better in spanish). Adrian because I loved the name, and Ricardo after my father who passed away unexpectedly a month before I found out I was expecting.





Once I found out it was a girl, I immediately knew I was going to name her Chloe. Although I contemplated for a split second on Penelope and Amelie... I'm glad I decided on Chloe, because she definitely looks like a Chloe :)
Reply:Yep! One of my girls didn't get her name until after she was born and it was totally inspired by the way she looked.





She looked like Ronald Reagan when she was born and you know I didn't name her Ronald. She is the baby in my avatar. Isn't she a cutie? Obviously she doesn't look like the old gipper now but she did back then!
Reply:Hallie's name was going to be Bailey for the longest time. Then I was watching an episode of CSI and one of the people on their had the name Halle and a lightbulb just went off in my head and I was like, wow that is a really beautiful name! I just decided to add the "i" in there because I think it looks prettier. People always pronounce her name "Hay-ley" and I don't know why... would you pronounce Sallie "Sale- ey" ?
Reply:We were dead set on Ajla..then all of a sudden my husband heard the name Farah..and he had to have that be our daughters name..I didn't really think it would be a problem at the time..but my name is Sara and her's is Farah...so b/c they rhyme it is already causing problems lol..wish I would have stuck with Ajla!!!
Reply:I always said 1st daughter would be Danielle and I named her Danielle jean


2nd daughter Nicole ellen


3rd a son Kyle dakota


4th son matthew john





I stayed with all names now my best friend always said her 1st daughter she was going to name her shawna ona marie umm ashley is what she choose.........
Reply:I wanted Talia Faith or Talia Paige but on the day I left the hospital I ended up choosing Liliana Faith. Liliana was my older daughter and my husband's favorite so I let them win :)
Reply:yes i waant to name my son Rory. after my best friend. But my sons dad didnt like my bf. so i named him Richard after his dad.
Reply:Yep he was gonna be a Gaige but everyone made fun of it and said pet cemetary is what came to mind
Reply:yup- we were going to name him Jaiden Scott- but everyone in the world was naming their kid jaiden aiden, kaiden and so we named my son Cohen Jeffrey. ( jeffrey after dad's first name)
Reply:We went back and forth for months. Finally he caved in and we named him Cade.
Reply:yes we were gunna name our daughter emma lynn instead we went with lily alexandra
