I need help naming a character in a story?

She is a sixteen year old model, who will encounter eating disorders, a strict and cruel mother who is also a model, betraying her own friends, a road trip to rebuild their friendship, love, and most importantly, finding herself and making the decision whether or not to model or do what she truly loves and face the wrath of her mother.

Her mother will be a former foreign model by the name of Vada Crelavani.

Should the main character's name be:

Evangeline Crelavani

Evangelina Crelevani

Christabelle Crelevani

Violetta Crelavani

Some characteristics are:

unsure of herself

smart

determined

likes to debate

LOVES to write

beautiful

pressured too much

strong willed

easy going

loves life

light hearted

independent

I really need a good name, because she is going to be a complex character. For the record, if this is of any importance, I'm calling the book "In The Mirror" help is appreciated. thanks!

Try this website... if the name isn't listed already, you can submit it. While I don't give too much credence to names affecting personality, it does explain how each name has a personality, etc.

Reply:Evangelina is sort of soft and beautiful, too.

Before I read your list I was thinking Sasha and then Yolanda. There's something about names ending in an A. Vada is a hard name, and so is the last name. Is Vada a single name person? If you say it, you know who it is?

If you use one of the longer ones, how about a nickname? Would she be Vangie? That sounds pretty insignificant, doesn't it and seems to show she is second to her mother.

Apollina

Lovely plot. I wish to be a model myself.
Reply:christabelle seems like a foreign type of name, which indicates a girl with an almost innocent manner, but also a sharp mind and strong wits. also, christabelle's fun to say, and the media would love a name like that. good luck with your book- sounds great!
Reply:I like short first names in my stories, especially when the last name is so long..

Here are a few suggestions: Nadia, Ava, Mira

More exotic ones: Chardonnay, Clarice, Tatiana
Reply:Mishaila,Amira Crelavani
Reply:Give her something simple, and beautiful. Readers do not like names they have to think about in order to pronounce. Make sure it is not too complicated.

Make sure the name isn't linked to a certain type of person, ex- Candy(stripper), Simon(geek) Ethel(old)
