When did the start naming tropical storms i thought it had to be a hurricane winds of 75 mpr to get a name ?

Tropical storms are given a name once winds reach 39 mph. When they reach sustained winds of 74mph, they're considered Hurricanes.

When did the start naming tropical storms i thought it had to be a hurricane winds of 75 mpr to get a name ?
They've been naming tropical storms since 1950. However, it wasn't "names". It went Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Easy, Fox, etc...
Reply:No, tropical cyclones get named when they reach tropical storm status, i.e. maximum sustained winds of at least 39 mph.
