Naming chemical equations - How do you put Berylium Hydroxide into numerical form?

hellppp! exam in less than 4 hours

Potassium Sulfate - K2(SO)4

Aluminum Oxide - Al2O3

Magnesium Selenide - MgS

Berylium Hydroxide - ??????

Also, how do you tell the difference between ionic, molecular and polyatomic compounds??

Naming chemical equations - How do you put Berylium Hydroxide into numerical form?
Be(OH)2
Reply:Beryllium hydroxide - Be(OH)2

Potassium sulfate - K2SO4

The others are right. Ionic compounds usually form between metals and nonmetals. That's between elements in the left two-thirds of the periodic table with those on the right one-third. Nonmetals in the right one-third of the periodic table usually form covalent compounds with one another. Polyatomic usually refers to cations like NH4+ or anions like SO4=, which have more than one kind of atom in them.
