What do you think of naming your child after a video game character?

Just curious one what people think about it... weird or intriguing?

There are a lot of cool names that aren't common but aren't bizarre that come from games... for example Link. Or even animes, like Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist... always thought that was a pretty name.

So what's the verdict: cool or weird?

What do you think of naming your child after a video game character?
i might since there are totally wierd names out there these days, so i guess i might try to call my kid Sora.
Reply:i have no issues with it but the others are right about which name you choose. i know what you mean with anime they are cool. i'm planning on naming a child after a favourtie charactor off of tv, which is corny but i really love this character and hope my child is like them. so i say go for it original is always better than the ordinary everyday names in my opinion
Reply:Go for it, man! If that's what you wanna do, do it. But just ask yourself, would you want to be named Cloud or Link. You don't want him/her to totally hate their name, one day lol.

I always wanted to name my son Ozzy or Alice (Alice Cooper), but my fiancee said "Hell no." lol. So, just keep your other half and your future child's feelings in mind too.
Reply:It's okay, but if I were going to do it, I'd NEVER let that kid play those games. For example, I have a friend who named his daughter Yuna. He's never gonna let her play Final Fantasy X.
Reply:It's a bit silly. My friend named her son after comic book characters. He;s Logan Xavier. Needless to say, the geeks laugh when they hear that.
Reply:Depends on which name you chose. My manager changed his middle name to Jedi..... i think that's retarded. But some names are cool, just pick the right one.
Reply:I think its good as long as you pick a good name like Winry or Link.

I think it's cool!
Reply:Marcus from Gears of war.
