When I told my Mom I was thinking about "Penny Lane" she freaked out! Why the hating?
Is there something wrong with naming babies after songs?
I don't think anythings wrong with that. You should be able to name your kid whatever you want. Moms are just like that.
Reply:I'm named after the song "Amie" though mine is spelled differently. I see nothing wrong with it, and I've always like that that is how I got my name. We saw Pure Prairie League (the band that performs it) in concert when I was very little and I thought they were singing to me.
Reply:its just a bit weird. i know a girl caroline and sometimes people sing her the song sweet caroline and its cute the first time but by the 20348459384764895034 time not so much. do you really want people singing that song to your daughter her whole life?
oh yah, how about keeping the same initials but doing something like Paige Loraine?
Reply:She is just looking out for you and I bet she just wants the baby to have a name that she wants it to have, but it's your baby and she only has a say in it if you want her to. It's not her baby so don't be insulted by her.
Reply:I think that that is super cute, and it always makes the kid feel special when they hear that song, like it was made just for them.
Reply:I think naming a kid after a song is not good because people sing the song to the child over and over again
and they get annoyed
Reply:Idk. If it's a classic song, I think it's fine.
TX Mom
Reply:Because you can do better.
Reply:BECAUSE YOU CAN BE MORE CREATIVE THAN THAT.
GOOD LUCK
Reply:Sometimes it's cute..sometimes not. There are tons of websites and books out there with thousands and thousands of baby names....why not try those first?
Reply:Maybe she was afraid that she would grow up to be a groupie.
Reply:because its tacky
Reply:no thanks
